What is Ear Candling?

The Way It Works
Ear candling is a holistic procedure used to remove excess wax, draw out toxins and pollutants, cleanse the sinus cavities, improve hearing and other senses and revitalize the nerve endings.
The spiral of the cone causes the smoke to be pulled down into the ear canal. This causes the ear canal to warm up and loosen the wax and any other material.
As it heats up, the candle causes suction by creating a vacuum in the ear canal. Air is drawn up from the tube into the middle ear then through the porous membrane to the outer ear.
This ancient clearing method has been used by the Egyptians (who apparently used reeds), the Chinese, Greeks, and the Hopi Indians of America. The process involves using a specially made hollow candle which is held gently on the edge of the ear to create a vacuum in the ear, drawing out old wax, residues of past infection and fungus. Candling is said to stimulate the immune system and peripheral blood circulation. Ear candles may also be used to cleanse and harmonies a person’s energy fields or auras, prior to meditation or trance work. Candling is non-invasive and completely painless. Treatments will generally last about one hour.
The heat and the vacuum draw out the wax and other materials from the ear canal into the base of the candle. As it burns down you will hear a lot of cracking and hissing which is the process of removing the wax etc.
The warmth feels calming and relaxing during the process.
What can Ear Candling treat:
- Sinus congestion
- Colds
- Earaches and infections
- Headaches
- Lymphatic congestion
- Sore throats
- Post-nasal drip
- Sinus infections
- Facial pressure around cheeks, eyes and forehead
It is safe, simple and natural. It is a relaxing experience that reduces stress and tension and also sharpens mental functions. It will take approximately 15-20 minutes per ear depending on the type of candle being used.
